Job & Training Opportunities
DiveSafe International has developed a special course to take harvesters with their WCB Seafood Harvester Certification and cross them over to their CSA Occupational Certification. This CSA certification will allow harvesters addition work in environmental surveys, film industry, engineering inspections and aquaculture when not fishing. This cross-over course will give harvesters credit for their experience and cover the requirements to meet the CSA Standard as recognized by WCB. DFO Fishery Notice (Jan.12/04) - Subject: Consultation - Expanding the Use of Tickets for Fisheries Act Offences.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada held consultations on proposed amendments to the Pacific Fishery Regulations, deadline for submissions was March, 2004. DFO requires that fishers pay for the electronic capturing of all harvest charts recieved after the fishing season has ended.
Reminder to activate and pay DFO licence fee's on all licences even if no fishing activity occurred for the season as DFO will retire the licence.
